The Institute of World Economics and Politics (IWEP) is a Chinese government think-tank and research center on world economics and international politics. IWEP conducts research on the following subjects:

- international politics and strategies

- world economic history
- world agriculture
- different country/area studies
The Institute’s research is divided into the seven departments, and several research centers. The research centers within the Institute are:
- Research Center for International Finance
- Third World Research Center of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS)
- Research Centre for Sustainable Development
- China Center for Corporate Governance
