ECCJ is an initiative from 16 European organisations which aims to ensure that corporations’ drive for profit is balanced by the interest of society at large, by promoting legally enforceable mechanisms based on internationally agreed standards and principles regarding human, social and environmental rights. ECCJ seeks to achieve its aims in the following ways:
- by putting pressure on European Institutions, as well as national governments via direct lobbying, public campaigns, and denunciation of bad practices
- by building a European community of knowledge and experience.
