The Inter-American Conference on Social Security / Conferencia Interamericana de Seguridad Social (CISS) is a permanent, specialised, technical, nonprofit international organisation formed by government agencies, institutions and other entities in the Americas engaged in regulating, managing, studying or researching social security from one or several perspectives. Founded in 1942 in Santiago – Chile, the CISS has 66 member institutions representing 36 countries of America. The permanent seat is located in Mexico City.

The Inter-American Center for Social Security Studies (CIESS) is the educational, training and research organ of the CISS. The CIESS provides technical support for the training and education human resources carries out academic activities and promotes research and studies in the social security field.

Another main activity of the CISS is the attribution of a Research Award which main objective is to spread out the research of excellence on interesting themes within the scope of the Inter-American social security.
