An independent non-governmental organization focusing on understanding and improving the status of women in Romania and promoting research on the social position of women in contemporary Romanian society.
The association activities include:
- collecting, treating and disseminating information on women’s status in Romania and in other countries
- organising courses on feminism and training of trainers for gender studies, seminars and round tables discussions on specific issues related to women’s problems and feminist topics
- publishing a journal for feminist studies
- getting involved in community development programs
- translating classic feminist texts and preparing anthologies of feminism
- designing and launching research projects in all fields related to women’s studies, gender studies, and feminist issues in general
