The Mobility and Health research programme was set up by the International Forum for Rural Transport and Development to explore the relationships between mobility and health. It focuses on the impacts of mobility constraints on the health and well-being of poor people in different developing country contexts.

The programme provides tools to enable transport professionals to include holistic health impact assessments and mitigations measures in the planning, design and implementation of transport interventions, and has developed an advocacy programme to sensitise the health sector to mobility and health issues.

The website, in English, French and Spanish, provides case studies from Africa, Asia and Latin America and a list of electronic resources on mobility and health that are free to download.
