Established in 1971 with the aim of contributing to the improvement of people’s health and welfare, the Korea Institute for Health and Social Affairs (KIHASA) undertakes systematic studies covering a wide range of areas including:

  • public health
  • social welfare
  • social insurance
  • population

KIHASA’s aim is to develop comprehensive policy frameworks and measures geared toward creating a health and welfare system that is highly responsive and proactive in addressing people’s needs while at the same time conducive to social utility and economic vibrancy. KIHASA also supports and administers a number of government-initiated committees, fulfilling its roleof think tank in the field of national health and welfare.
