Social science database covering core disciples of economics, sociology, politics and anthropology. Contains over 600,000 bibliographical references (indexed, but not abstracted) to journal articles, reports, papers, reviews, book chapters from some 2300 main journals, 1000 occasional journals and around 7500 books per year. Data is from 1951 to the present. Database in provided by the British Library for Political and Economic Science (BLPES / LSE). The service is free at point of use to members of the UK higher education institutions funded by HEFCs or by DENI (password/ username required). The service is jointly funded by BLPES, the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) and the Joint Information Systems Committee (JISC).
