EDRC is a non-profit and politically unaffiliated organisation established in 2001 in Yerevan, Armenia. It aims at addressing the economic and social challenges that Armenia faces.

Mission objectives of EDRC are to:

  • promote efficiency of economic policy making
  • strengthen economic education
  • foster high-quality, policy-relevant, economic research
  • contribute to the economic and social development of communities
  • contribute to the development of foreign economic relations and the international integration of Armenia.

EDRC approaches its goals through:

  • analysing the macroeconomic framework and producing forecasts
  • developing policy applications for national strategies
  • designing and assessing poverty reduction policy scenarios
  • increasing the availability of economic information
  • supporting participatory processes in national and local governance
  • supporting the development of economic research and education
  • facilitating modern economic literature and analytical papers’ development in Armenia
  • designing programmes on economic development of the earthquake zone
  • organising seminars, training and roundtable discussions.

The Center is currently running research projects focused on policy research, macroeconomic modeling, poverty reduction and advocacy. EDRC also runs the Economic Information Center, which is designed to address the need for publicly available economic data and independent analyses of the Armenian economy.

EDRC publishes the “Economic Policy and Poverty” periodical. The homepage in English offers links to all projects, news, downloadable database (in English and Armenian) and subscription for the periodical.

By
