The Department of Economics and Development Studies was established in 1957 as a departmental unit under the Faculty of Economics, Padjadjaran University.
The Department’s main scope of work is teaching (undergraduate economics level), and research and training activities. The department also supports graduate level teaching for the Masters for Public Policy Program, Master for Business Administration, and the Master of Science in Economics.
The main areas of research interest and expertise of the Department are: regional economics, public finance, industrial organization, international economics, natural resources and environmental economics. The Department also includes the Laboratory of Economics and Development Studies which coordinates research activities implemented by academic staff.
