The Centre for the Study of Higher Education (CSHE – formerly the Education Policy Unit) conducts research on policy implementation and change management, and monitoring and evaluation in the field of higher education. The current programme of CSHE include:
- responsiveness of higher education (HE) to development needs
- changing modes of knowledge production and acquisition in HE
- equity
- inclusive education
- mergers and reconfiguration of the HE landscape in South Africa
The CSHE website includes details of South African HE news and HE policy developments. It also has a searchable database of materials held in the resource centre. The site provides details of current projects and searchable datahases of past projects and publications.
