Research centre common to three educational institutions in Paris, École Nationale des Ponts et Chaussées (ENPC) which focuses on civil engineering, the École Nationale du Génie Rural, des Eaux et des Forêts (ENGREF) focussing on forestry and the University of Paris 12 Val-de-Marne, Department of chemistry.
Aims of the centre are teaching and research in the areas of urban hydrology, waste water treatment, sanitation, water management, sustainable development in Africa and Latin America. CEREVE is a multi-field research laboratory, and aims to become a centre of expertise and support for education programmes. The overall objectives of the centre are:
- to improve the scientific knowledge
- to take part in the design of field surveys of integrated management
- to contribute to the training of the experts and researchers of tomorrow
