This report documents and analyses the current and future perspectives of Climate-Smart Agriculture (CSA) for five major sectors in West Africa.
It explores the specific features of the scientific, institutional, policy and funding CSA landscape, providing relevant information that could guide the definition of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) Framework for CSA Intervention, Funding, Monitoring and Evaluation. The sectors covered are crop production, livestock, fisheries, forestry/agroforestry, and water. For each sector, a particular emphasis is given to the current status, the climate projections and likely socio- economic and environmental impacts expected, the bottlenecks to action and suggested next steps for adaptation and mitigation.
