The Office of the Compliance Advisor Ombudsman (CAO) is the independent recourse mechanism for the private sector arms of the World Bank Group. It is committed to enhancing the development impact and sustainability of International Finance Corporation (IFC) and Multilateral Investment Guarantee Agency (MIGA) projects by responding quickly and effectively to complaints from affected communities and by supporting IFC and MIGA in improving the social and environmental outcomes of their work, thereby fostering a higher level of accountability.
