IGCI is a self-funding unit within the University of Waikato (Hamilton, New Zealand), whose goal is to integrate knowledge on the natural and human dimensions of global environmental change for use in policy development and decision-making. ICGI has 3 Programmes of Activity: integrated assessment and modelling of environmental variation and change; integrated governance and planning for sustainable community development; and professional training courses for capacity building plus higher degrees. Work on the impact of climate change and subsequent adaptation strategies includes the CLIMPACTS programme exploring the sensitivity of New Zealand to climate variability and change.
