The Edge Institute is an economic policy research centre in Johannesburg, which promotes sustainable growth, development and distributional equity. The Edge Institute initiates its own research projects and develops projects in partnership with academic institutions, with other research institutes and with non-government organisations. Areas of focus include:

- South Africa and the World Trade Organisation
- HIV and AIDS
The institute also conducts seminars, workshops and conferences on a range of topics including inequality, globalisation and social movements.
