The North American Primary Care Research Group is a multidisciplinary organization for primary care researchers in the United States, Canada, Mexico, the Caribbean, and throughout the world, with a mission to develop, disseminate, and promote new knowledge regarding primary care. Its goals are to: serve as an incubator for new ideas; increase capacity for conducting quality research; provide appropriate forums for presentation of original primary care research; enhance communication among primary care researchers; and integrate primary care research, patient care, and education.

NAPCRG advocates for primary care research through its support of the College of Family Physicians of Canada Section of Researchers and its membership in the Academic Family Medicine Organizations (AFMO), along with other AFMO members—the American Academy of Family Physicians, the Association of Departments of Family Medicine, the Association of Family Practice Residency Directors, and the Society of Teachers of Family Medicine.
