The Nepal Agricultural Research Council (NARC) conducts studies and research on various aspects of agriculture, and assists the government with the formulation of agricultural policies and strategies. The ultimate objective of NARC research is poverty alleviation with sustainable growth of agricultural production through the development of appropriate technologies in different aspects of agriculture.
The functions and responsibilities of NARC include:
- providing research and consultancy services
- coordinating, monitoring and evaluating agriculture research activities in Nepal
- documenting agricultural research activities
The research areas of NARC cover farming systems, agricultural extension, agri-marketing, food science, agri ecology and environment, socio economics and other fields related to agriculture.
NARC produces the Nepal Agricultural Research Journal. The abstracts of the journal can be downloaded from the website.
