The Mercosur Economic Research Network (Red-Mercosur) links nine institutions from Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay and Uruguay with broad experience in the field of economic research and with a comprehensive background in the Mercosur integration process. Core funds for the Network’s operation are contributed by the International Development Research Centre (IDRC/Canada). The General Coordination operates in Montevideo, Uruguay.

The website contains details of projects and reports on Mercosur with individual country case studies, these include:

  • an economic evaluation of restrictions to internal trade and its regional impact
  • foreign direct investment and the factors of attraction, trade patterns and policy implications
  • trade, foreign exchange regimes and volatility concentrating on the coordination of macroeconomic policies
