The Labour Resource and Research Institute (LaRRI), founded in January 1998, provides continuous training and policy research. The Institute focuses its research on areas such as:
- labour legislation
- collective bargaining
- affirmative action
- gender equality
The Institute collects, updates and releases accessible research, while concurrently maintaining a database on the Namibian economy and industrial relations. The Institute also engages in designing and undertaking training programmes for trade unions, as well as assisting the labour movement to develop comprehensive policy proposals.
LaRRI also maintains a resource centre which contains a range of books and periodicals on various topics including trade unions in Namibia and the SADC region, industrial relations, gender equality, international trade unions, HIV/Aids, the Namibian economy, occupational health and safety, as well as UNDP and ILO publications.
The website of the Institute includes information about the organisation, and also contains a large collection of reports, papers and publications. Most reports and papers are free to download from the website, and information on how to obtain specific publications is also provided on the website.
