The European Center of the International Center for Economic Growth (ICEG EC) aims to contribute to the ongoing discussions on the main issues of transition to the market economy and catch up of Central and Eastern European economies.

Currently there are three broad areas of interest for the center:

  • major macroeconomic problems of Eastern and Central European economies
  • evolution of financial sector, where research focuses on both the capital markets and the banking sector
  • reform of public sector in Eastern Europe, which includes research on tax reform, health care and pension reform and fiscal federalism
The website features the following downloadable publications and information:
  • “News of the Month”:brief analyses prepared by the ICEG European Center on the latest macroeconomic developments in Eastern Europe
  • Trends in the Region: a detailed assessment of a selected macroeconomic issue, based and covering most of the economies in Eastern and Central Europe
  • Macroeconomic Review: an overview of macroeconomic developments in 14 Eastern and Central European economies and the region in general
  • Data: overview of major data on economic development, structural and institutional features, macroeconomic performance of individual economies in the region
