The Institute of Hunger Studies (Instituto de Estudios del Hambre IEH) is a non-profit and independent organization founded in Spain in 2001 with the goal to fight against hunger and improve feeding in developing countries.
IEH´s main activities aim at providing support through research, training and technical assistance to governments, public and private institutions and civil society organizations in developing their hunger eradication policies and strategies.
One of IEH’s main activities is training on strategies and initiatives to fight hunger. Training activities are directed at raising awareness through a better knowledge of the causes of hunger and to developing capacities and abilities to addressfood insecurity at local, national and international level.
IEH is actively involved in field initiatives with developing countries. These include technical assistances to government bodies and civil society associations through internationaland non governmental organizations.
The focus of IEH’s applied research is developing and disseminating evidence-based guidelines to institutions involved in fighting against hunger.
