The Institute of Integrated Development Studies (IIDS) is a Nepalese non-governmental, non-profit research institute, which aims to contribute to the identification, analysis, understanding and response to major development policy issues facing the country. A long-term goal of IIDS has been to contribute to more informed public policies and programmes through the provision of technical assistance and dissemination of the research findings and recommendations in different formats to target audiences, mainly the government.

With the restoration of multiparty democracy in Nepal in 1990, pluralism has been a prevalent feature in the various issues of national importance. Unilateral viewpoints are put to scrutiny in the process of public debate and discussion. In this context, the IIDS hopes to provide objective, non-partisan, policy relevant research on major development issues.
