Food Basket Foundation International (FBFI) is an indigenous Non-Governmental Organisation which was set up to assist low income families achieve food and nutrition security on a sustainable basis, especially for members of the vulnerable groups. The foundation was formed in 1988 by a group of professionals in Nutrition, Communication, Medicine, the Social Sciences (Economics, Sociology and Psychology), Law and Agriculture, based on the recognition that the government’s efforts at providing basic needs to the poor and guaranteeing them the opportunities to adequately feed themselves and their families contained a missing link between programme planning and implementation.
