The Ecological Sources of Conflicts group is a forum for provacative debate and exchange of information and ideas related to the ecological or environmental sources of conflicts in Sub-Saharan Africa. Specific objectives of the discussion group are the following:
- to disseminate and share research findings with a geographically and disciplinarily diverse group of scholars in Sub-Saharan Africa and elsewhere
- to disseminate reference information, including useful literature, linkages to net-sites, and announcements of upcoming meetings, fellowships, and other opportunities for further study
- to share and debate viewpoints on the multiple sources of conflicts in Sub-Saharan Africa
- to encourage collaborative research on issues of common interest
