The Deccan Development Society (DDS), is a two decade old grassroots organisation working in about 75 villages with women’s Sanghams (voluntary village level associations of the poor) in Medak District of Andhra Pradesh. It conducts campaigns, research, programs and activities with rural women to address the issues of food security, natural resource management, education and health within the region. In an effort to resist certain globalising forces, the organisation facilitates the development of community autonomy over food production, seeds, natural resources, markets and media.
