The Conflict Prevention and Reconstruction Unit provides conflict analysis aimed at optimising project design in conflict-affected countries, and develops tools and strategies to deal with development in conflict areas.

The site outlines the World Bank’s work in this field, including its current operations in various countries, and provides links to partner organisations. Documents available for downloading include working papers, assessment frameworks and details of the World Bank’s strategies and projects in particular countries. Also available are dissemination notes, intended to disseminate good practice and key findings on conflict prevention and reconstruction, as well as to generate debate inside and outside the Bank on issues related to conflict and development. There are also links to related sections of the Bank, including the Post Conflict Fund, the Conflict Prevention and Post-Conflict Reconstruction Network and the CPR Network Resource Library.
