The University of Nottingham has established the China Policy Institute (CPI) to analyse critical policy challenges faced by China in its rapid development, and to expand the knowledge and understanding of contemporary China in Britain, Europe and worldwide.

Working with other research centres around the world and with Chinese partners, the CPI operates as a think-tank, producing quality research and policy analysis on selected topics to help build a more informed dialogue between China and the UK and Europe, and to help guide government and business strategies. The CPI deals exclusively with China and Chinese affairs.

The CPI publishes a range of policy papers and working papers, and organises seminars, conferences and workshops on a variety of topics for discussion and debate.
