CADAL was established in 2003 in Buenos Aires, Argentina. It conducts analysis, research and diffusion with an agenda to promote democracy, law and economic liberties in the region. It works in four main areas:
- Latin American politics
- democratic strengthening
- economics and the rule of law
- development and institutional communications.
The website is in Spanish and English and includes details of newsletters, articles and books published by the Centre. Many of the publications are available on the website and some are in English.
