The British Journal of Psychiatry is published monthly by The Royal College of Psychiatrists. It covers all branches of psychiatry, with particular emphasis on the clinical aspects of each topic. Articles include peer-reviewed papers from around the world, editorials, review articles, commentaries, short reports, a comprehensive book review section and a correspondence column. A series of supplements, sent free to subscribers, provides in-depth coverage of selected areas.
The journal is intended for psychiatrists, clinical psychologists, and all professionals with an interest in mental health. The print version is sent to all Members of the Royal College of Psychiatrists, which includes most psychiatrists working in the UK. There is also a substantial international subscriber base. Full text is made freely available 1 year after publication. There is a free archive of abstracts from 1975 and a free archive of tables of contents from 1965.
