WWW site providing access to a network of electronic sources on research and teaching in agriculture, food, renewable natural resources, forestry, and physical and social sciences. Information services include:

(a) AgDB: an evolving directory of external databases, datasets and information systems. Directory provides information on content of databases, contact information and site links where possible.

(b) AGRICOLA database subject category codes: searchable electronic version of indexing/cataloguing codes used to produce US National Agricultural Library (NAL) bibliographical database (see separate entry)

(c) Directories of Experts in Agriculture. Listing, with direct links, of broad range of external databases listing experts in agriculture.

(d) Online Reference Service. Collaborative project to share areas of expertise between Iowa State University, University of Arizona, Cornell University, University of Nebraska, and the National Agricultural Library’s (NAL) Food & Nutrition Information Center and Rural Information Center. Subjects chosen to specialise in for the purposes of this project are : Animal Science (Iowa); Plant Sciences (Nebraska); Food and Nutrition (NAL); Rural Information (NAL); Rangeland Management (Arizona, Office of Arid Lands Studies (OALS), see separate entry; and Reports and Data Sets from the USDA Economics Agencies (Cornell).

(e) Agricultural Conferences, Meetings, Seminars Calendar.

(f) DirAgIR: links to directories of agriculture-related information resources on the Internet.
