SAFHR is a regional public forum for the promotion of respect for universal values of human rights, the interdependence of rights and the indivisibility of rights.SAFHR works through a network of partners and associates comprising civil society groups to organise regional dialogues, produce research and publications and undertake advocacy campaigns. The forum also provides training courses and workshops on women and peace. In addition to human rights, areas of focus include:
- refugees and internally displaced people
- minority rights and combating discrimination
- inter-state and intra-state conflicts and peace accords
- strengthening of peace constituencies in civil society
The website contains a directory of organisations that are working on refugee issues in South Asia. The organisation also has a variety of publications including books, reports and e-briefs. Many of these can be downloaded from the website.
