PARC is a partnership of the governments of Canada, Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba mandated to pursue climate change impacts and adaptation research in the Prairie Provinces. PARC’s objective is to generate practical options to adapt to current and future climate change and also seeks to foster the development of new professionals in the emerging science of climate change impacts and adaptation. Current projects include:
- a Canada-Chile adaptation case study
- a study on climate change and water in the South Saskatchewan River Basin
- a study examining probable climate futures for five isolated forests in the southern Prairie Provinces and in Montana and North Dakota
- a project on the vulnerability of the grassland-forest transition zone.
