The Center is the first of its kind in an Arab country outside of North Africa. In addition to providing documentation and library facilities, the Center is an observatory and clearinghouse on the status and condition of Palestinian women. Thus, the Center commissions, collects, analyzes and disseminates research on Palestinian women, including fact sheets and policy briefs. Furthermore, the Center maintains online databases, organizes training courses and provides vital information to decision-makers, local and international NGOs, media outlets, researchers, and students.
It aims to serve as the primary clearinghouse and resource center on information related to the situation of Palestinian women so that governmental, international and civil society organizations, media, and research institutions, are able to better advocate for and realize gender equality.
