The MRCC facilitates national development by conducting research in support of policy formulation and socio-economic development. The MRCC operates in co-operation with the Univeristy of Nambia’s
various faculties, government insitutions, the private sector, NGO’s and international agencies. It aims to train and build research capacity in Namibia whilst generating knowledge relevant to the country and disseminate the acquired knowledge through publication, workshop or seminars.

The MRCC’s social sciences division includes the following research and training elements:

  • Poverty and Livelihood Programme
  • Economic Research Programme
  • Community Based Natural Resource Management
