The International Centre for Ethnic Studies (ICES) conducts research on violent group conflict and related issues of governance and development. The ICES conducts its research on five themes:
- peaceful resolution of inter-group conflict
- corruption-free democratic governance
- sustainable and equitable development
- social justice and fundamental human rights
- international co-operation and understanding
The ICES works with a variety of partners, including scholars, policymakers, and practitioners, to take forward its research programmes. The ICES puts forth a number of publications, conducts workshops, conferences, and provides opportunities for research, training courses, fellowships and internships. - Sri Lankan maps
- political & economic events
ICES also provides access to scholars and researchers through its library and documentation centre that includes extensive material on the centre’s research areas and a wide selection of scholarly journals and current periodicals from around the world.
