Formed in 1995, IIFAP focusses on the analysis of public policies at local and provincial level in the areas of education, health, governance, and local and regional development. It runs a Masters Degree in Public Administration; conducts research in the areas of education, health, local and regional development and institutional development; and publishes an annual journal, Administración Pública y Sociedad (Public Administration and Society).
The IIFAP website is in Spanish and includes details of staff research interests and their current and past projects. It also lists articles published in Administración Pública y Sociedad and working papers. These papers must be obtained from the Institute’s library and cannot be downloaded from the site.
