The Department of Economics is one of the five departments within the social science faculty at Chancellor College, University of Malawi. It offers undergraduate, graduate and postgraduate courses in a range of subjects. These include:
- development economics
- natural resource and environment economics
- public finance
- international economics
- agriculture economics
In addition to undertaking academic and applied research, the department provides consultancy and advisory services to the government, multilateral agencies and the private sector. The department was also instrumental in setting up the secretariat of the Economics Association of Malawi (ECAMA).
