Several organisations produce regular reports on disaster situations. These are distributed by email and archived on WWW servers. Agencies producing regular reports include: OCHA, OFDA, FEWS, WFP, Interaction. See the Eldis entries for each organisation for more information on these.

The most useful collections of reports are:

(a) Reliefweb has the best archive of multi-agency reports, arranged by country. Covers current emergencies and maintains an archive. WWW: http://www.reliefweb.int/

(b) OCHA reports: country-based collection of news reports from OCHA (formerly DHA) plus links to the relevant country pages from their databases on aid deliveries, demining activitie, field operations directory and maps. WWW: http://www.reliefweb.int/dha_ol/contlist.html

(c) VITA’s Centre for International Disaster Information (CIDI) offers an email distribution service which incorporates reports from several of these sources. These include OCHA, IRIN, OFDA, WFP. WWW: http://www.cidi.org/

(d) Alertnet: part of the Reuters network. Reports from its journalists, plus feature materials and links to reports from international agencies. WWW: http://www.alertnet.org
