October 2015 marked the 15th anniversary of UNSCR resolution 1325 and the Women, Peace and Security agenda. Activists, women’s human rights defenders and UN member states have gathered in a series of activities to renew their commitments and address obstacles and constraints that have emerged in the implementation of the resolution. The purpose of this toolkit is to provide information, guidance and tools for the Women's International League for Peace and Freedom (WILPF) sections and partners to strengthen their local action in leveraging this anniversary year for concrete change. It provides a variety of resources that can be used to strengthen strategic advocacy, outreach, and action with governments, public institutions, policy makers, and media to promote WILPF’s message at the local, national, regional and international level. Such resources include: reminders for effective lobbying at foreign policy and programming level (for instance how to address Foreign, Social Welfare and other Ministries effectively) for local awareness raising (for instance writing press releases and using the media, including social media effectively). Other guidance is provided around raising funds for the Women, Peace and Security (WPS) agenda and for conflict prevention. (Summary adapted from source)
