Advocacy and lobbying coalition of NGOs, institutions and individuals formed in 1996. Its aims include ensuring that macroeconomic and budgetary policies are participatory and incorporate the concerns and interests of various sections of civil society and mobilising the public to ensure public accountability and transparency in the utulisation of public resources.
As part of its work UDN conducts research and analysis on Ugandan poverty reduction policies, aiming to provide inputs for policy formulation on various issues such as debt sustainability, and to strengthen the role of civil society organisations in influencing policy planning and formulation in the country.
