“Moving Out of Poverty: Understanding Democracy, Freedom and Growth from the Bottom-Up” is a global study to learn retrospectively from men and women who have moved out of poverty over the last decade. Forming part of the World Bank’s poverty sector, the study explores from the bottom-up the factors and processes that shape people’s access to economic opportunities.
This site enables readers to examine the scope and design of the study and link to a number of background papers. Moving Out of Poverty country reports, global reports and thematic papers on mobility will be posted on this site as they become available.
