The Lithuanian Institute of Agrarian Economics was founded in 1990. Researchers pay special attention to agricultural policy survey, taking into consideration Lithuania’s integration into the EU. Research trends at the institute include:
- agricultural policy – including national policy and its modelling, analysis and prognosis of the agricultural development
- economics of farms and agricultural enterprises – including development of farm account survey and production efficiency
- rural development – including regional economic development, social and ethno-cultural development and sources and environment protection
