Self Help Africa’s Malawi programme is a combination of directly implemented area based development programmes, and series of partner programms known as FAIR, which is a joint initiative with two other international NGOs: Find Your Feet (FYF), a British NGO, and Development Fund (DF), a Norwegian NGO.
The central part of Self Help Africa’s work in Malawi involves helping people to grow enough food to feed their families, with a focus on agro-ecological farming practices. Another priority is helping communities to find alternative ways of earning an income to reduce their reliance on rain-fed farming.
