The Gulf Research Center (GRC) is an independent research institute located in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE). GRC is committed to enriching and fostering academic and intellectual understanding of a range of crucial political, economic, social, educational, media, security and strategic issues relevant to the Gulf region.
The Center is also devoted to facilitating rapport and dialogue among Arab and non-Arab scholars and academics specialized in Gulf affairs. GRC produces a comprehensive and regularly upgraded database, in addition to the regular reports and analyses of current affairs and prognostications of future development. In order to fulfill its research mission, the GRC has launched a website meant to be a world resource for studies, e-books, and specialized translations that examine issues linked to the Gulf region.
Furthermore, the GRC undertakes activities that embrace the following:
- conducting research programs on Gulf issues
- executing an annual program that involves the translation into Arabic of a number of studies, reports and books originally published in English
- issuing an annual report that discerns and analyzes the outstanding events and developments that characterize the Gulf region during the year under study
- holding workshops and conferences that debate and explore some of the most notable issues and developments that impact the Gulf region
- offering top-notch training courses for students
- preparing studies and offering expert consultation to governmental and non-governmental organizations in different fields within the Center’s primary concerns
- maintaining a large database including information on specialized experts and scholars in the Gulf region
