The Strategies for Hope (SFH) Series is a project of ActionAid, based in the UK and working in collaboration with many organisations in Africa, Asia, Europe, North America & the Caribbean. The Series began in 1989, with the aim of promoting positive thinking and practical action in the field of HIV/AIDS care, support and prevention, particularly in sub-Saharan Africa.
The SFH Series produces and distributes books and videos that document successful, innovative strategies of HIV/AIDS work by NGOs and community groups. To date, the Series has produced 24 books, six documentary videos and the ‘Stepping Stones’ training package (manual & workshop video). SFH maintains a database of over 19,000 addresses of organisations and individuals involved in HIV/AIDS-related work, including 10,000 addresses in Sub- Saharan Africa, which targets particular groups in need of information and training materials for HIV/AIDS-related work.
