Based at the Centre for Population Studies, and funded by the Department for International development (DFID), this research programme focuses on sexual and reproductive health of men and women in developing countries, particularly of poor people. Research activities fall into five main areas:

- research on improving and promoting services
- research on incorporating new interventions into services
- research on methods for monitoring and evaluation.
