The Minimum Cost Housing Group (MCHG) of the McGill University School of Architecture (Canada) is an educational and research unit with an international orientation that focuses attention on the human settlement problems of poor nations.
A number of graduate study programmes are offered, though housing research is a paramount activity. Research has been carried out on construction materials, small building components, low-cost sanitation and servicing systems and human settlements planning. The scope of MCHG covers work in Central America, Africa, South Asia and the Far East.
