International Center for Human Development was established in March 2000 as an Armenian independent research and policy institution. The Center aims to strengthen democratic mechanisms and foster free market values in the Caucasus countries. It promotes and supports development research in the region.
The Center’s interests include:
- civil society institutions
- issues of regional integration and globalization
- social sector and poverty alleviation
- governance and public sector reforms, and local governance assistance
- development of free market institutions
- environmental and cultural issues
The Center regularly hosts a series of round tables and seminars on the problems of economic development involving leading policy makers and representatives from business and academic circles.
The website in English currently offers information on the main projects of ICHD, a list of recent publications (no downloadable copies), staff contacts and areas of expertise. In the Studies and Research section the Center displays a few research papers on the development issues.
