The Hansard Society is an independent, non-partisan educational charity which exists to promote effective parliamentary democracy.
The Hansard Society aims to
- provide a neutral public space in which those with an interest in parliament can come together to study and debate
- generate a range of opportunities for a variety of groups and individuals to find out about parliament and how it works
- organise a programme of activities to encourage participation in the parliamentary democratic process by the widest spectrum of people
- provide a forum for informed discussion about the future of parliamentary democracy
