Secondary Education in Africa (SEIA) is a regional study initiative by the World Bank, in cooperation with Sub-Saharan African countries, and other donors to review international secondary education reform experiences and provide a forum for educators, decision-makers, and donor agencies to discuss and develop secondary education in Sub-Saharan Africa (SSA). Specific objectives to:

  • support Sub-Saharan African countries in developing strategic agendas for Secondary Education reforms
  • collect and summarise best practices and identify sustainable development plans for expanding and improving the quality, equity, and efficiency of Junior and Senior Secondary Education in SSA and disseminate information through workshops and conferences
  • find ways for donor agencies to better coordinate and support the SEIA reform agenda.
